The Motorola RMU2080 includes 8 channels, but only 7 of those channels are ready to communicate on out of the box. The eighth channel is a designated NOAA Weather Alert channel, which makes this radio a popular choice for schools, construction job sites, and other environments where receiving weather alerts is important.

With 7 channels to communicate on, you should be able to split your team up into multiple groups and have plenty of privacy, but if you find that one of your channels is experiencing static or interference from nearby businesses, it may be necessary for you to change the programming of your two way radio.
