Motorola RMU2040 Programming Guide
The Motorola RMU2040 is a 4-channel radio, but only 2 of the channels are active out of the box. You can activate the additional 2 channels or change the programming of your radio by switching the frequencies and codes. However, out of the box, every RMU2040 is set to the same frequencies and codes. If at any point you have changed the programming of your RMU2040 and you want to change it back to its default settings, all you have to do is reset the two way radio.
Resetting the programming of the RMU2040 back to the default setting is easy and only takes a few seconds. Just follow the step-by-step instructions below:
Step-by-Step Instructions
In order to reset the radio, you will need to first turn the RMU2040 off. Once it is off, hold down the push-to-talk button, the side button 1, and the side button 2 at the same time while turning the radio on. The side button 1 and side button 2 are the buttons on the side of the RMU2040 radio beneath the push-to-talk button. Make sure to hold the buttons the entire time until you hear the chirp. Once you hear the chirp, the radio has been reset to its default settings.
